About Yatri

Regional Indian cooking, done properly

Tucked just off the bustle of Euston and King’s Cross, Yatri is built around a simple idea: Indian food deserves the same care and honesty as any other great regional cuisine. We lean into the North and Northwest — Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan — where bold spicing meets slow-cooked technique, and where the street food stalls are every bit as celebrated as the grand thalis.

That means whole spices toasted to order, breads pulled fresh from a working tandoor, and gravies that take hours rather than minutes. We work with trusted suppliers for our meat, produce and dairy, and we don’t cut corners to speed things up.

Behind it all is a kitchen team who grew up with this food, led by a chef who has cooked across India’s regional traditions before bringing that experience to London. The result is a menu that feels like a journey — hearty, generous, and unmistakably authentic.

Our Story

The people behind Yatri

Prashant Patel, founder of Yatri Indian Restaurant

Prashant Patel

Founder

Born and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat, Prashant grew up around hospitality — a family trade that took him from India’s bustling restaurant scene to hotel and service roles across the UK. Yatri is the result of years spent learning what makes a dining room feel like somewhere people want to keep returning to: honest food, warm welcomes, and no pretence.

Chef Hemant, head chef at Yatri Indian Restaurant

Chef Hemant

Head Chef

Chef Hemant has spent his career in kitchens across India, cooking his way through the country’s regional cuisines long before landing in London. At Yatri, he brings that range to a tightly curated menu — from tandoor classics to street food favourites — each dish built on technique learned the traditional way.
